MOCO (more compassion) Self-Care Kits to promote self-care

While caring for her 82 year old high risk mother during this pandemic Mala and Mantra founder Judith Compton realized how important compassion is not only for getting through this uncertain time but how necessary and vital it is to our own relationships and interactions. Taking care of someone who may not be able to completely care for herself taught her how limitless our ability to express compassion can be.

It was so meaningful to Judith when her mother told her ‘You should be a caregiver.’ The irony is she is a retired registered nurse and hearing that from her was very humbling. Caring for others and providing wellness runs in Judith’s family. Her father was a family physician and General Surgeon and her mother a RN. Judith has so much appreciation and respect for the healthcare profession as it provided for her family and gave her parents a higher sense of purpose.

In addition to sending one kit for every kit sold to a frontline healthcare provider between May 7th - December 31st, 2020, Mala and Mantra will donate $10 of the purchase price of each MOCO Self-Care Kit sold online at malaandmantra.com to #FirstRespondersFirst, a fund administered by the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. This great initiative is supporting the health and safety needs of our public healthcare workers.
