As mindful as we make an effort to be when it comes to eating and exercising and meditating, we all too often forget that we should be mindful in our communication, too. After all, communication is at the core of almost every relationship, whether it’s the one with your partner, your children, your friends, your boss, and even yourself. Fortunately, mindful communication is something that can easily be learned and mastered with just a few simple tricks and a little practice.

As part of our Mindful May series, we teamed up with Heather Peterson + Gabby Domini—two of our M-powered M-bassadors + the creators of Meditate Movement—to give you a few easy tricks for practicing mindfulness meditation.
Just like with everything else in your life, your exercises + workouts can be the perfect avenue for practicing mindfulness. That’s because mindful movement is simply exercise performed with awareness. It involves quieting your mind, listening to your body + adjusting your movements based on the feedback it's giving you.
Tto help you stay more present while wining + dining, here are 5 of my favorite tricks for practicing mindful eating.
Mindfulness is about fully feeling every emotion and physical sense that comes to you, letting them resonate with your mind and body, and then letting them go so as not to get weighed down or distracted. It’s about not being stuck in the past or looking too far into the future, but rather knowing that the present moment is all that matters and making the most of it while it’s here.
As part of a new family tradition we started last year, we hit the road towards the desert for a retreat to a place where we can appreciate nature, be away from the distractions of our everyday life, and be together to meditate on our plans for the year before us. This year we selected a getaway retreat in Joshua Tree, California to spend three quality days "off the grid," so to speak.
We made the conscious decision to use this special time to reflect on all we are grateful for, be outside and breathe fresh air, meditate in the silence of the desert, cook healthy clean food, relax and read, and talk about our hopes, dreams, and goals for 2016 and beyond. Our intention in going on this New Year retreat is not only to relax and recharge, but also to mindfully release our joint desires to the universe with the hope that the energy we express will manifest into reality.
I hope that whatever your plans are for the New Year, you experience a sense of renewal + rejuvenation and are inspired to release your intentions to the universe. May your New Year be filled with health + wellness, and may you shine and share your light.
I decided our M+M theme for this month would be the concept of MANIFESTATION as it is something I have personally been investing time and energy in and have already benefited from the results in my own life and business.
What exactly is MANIFESTATION? Here is how Merriam-Webster defines it:
